Cut Costs and Downtime:

Cut downtime while preventing costly repairs to rolls, dies, and delicate process equipment used in web based material manufacturing and conversion processes with our patented state-of-the-art Model 1032 Classic® Splice Detector™ solution. Since the RKB splice detector uses capacitive techniques the web material is treated as a dielectric. Therefore immediate and sudden changes in material thickness due to splices, tearouts, and web breaks are instantly revealed as a change and thus reported. Installed along any convenient point in your web, our splice detector sensor will alert production personnel at the earliest possible stage of your process.

Guarantee Product Quality:

With thousands of delivered units worldwide, our splice detector solutions ensure delivered product quality on any grade of non-metallic web material such as coated and non-coated papers, films, nonwovens, textiles, and tapes. Our splice detector can and is installed on many types of machinery including sheeters, on and off machine coaters, extrusion laminators, supercalenders, rotogravure and flexographic processes, holographic processes, textile and nonwoven machinery.

Minimize Operator Intervention:

This technology comes as a complete package and has universal mounting holes in the base. The units outputs are integrated and facilitate, if desired, total control of peripheral equipment such as audio/visual alarms, counters, sorters, coating head applicators, corona treaters, edge marking systems and reject gate controls. By implementing the optional Model 4000 AutoTrack™ Control solution the splice detector can be advanced/retard automatically during rethreading or web breaks. Our unique edge tracking ensures your inspection device will track the web materal and will always be located in the “sweet spot” for reliable detection. All of our splice detection technologies can be combined with our own Model 1280 Guardian® Multicolor Edge Marking™ Technology and Model 1122 Abolisher® Reject Gate Control™ Technology for completely unattended operation of your production equipment.

Benefits:

Each Black Mamba system installed provides the end users, as well as the web press manufacturer the following:

100% Reliability in splice fault detection.
Fail safe to notify the press that the Black Mamba is connected and functioning.
Limits emergency down time caused by damaged print heads/stations.
Eliminates the need for "SPLICE FREE PAPER" to be required.
Reduces print head/station replacements.
Increases product quality of both press and printed material.
Facilitates increased market share thus increase annual revenues.

Respond to Varying Conditions:

Our splice detection technologies are self calibrating and can monitor single to multiple webs of material simultaneously. No adjustments, settings or re-calibrations are required. Our splice detection technology is completely unaffected by basis weight changes, coat weight changes, color and process manufacturing speeds. Since splice detection technologies automatically "Adjust Themselves" for up-to-the-minute process conditions, special splicing tapes, colors or identification tags are not required and the operation is unaffected by printed material.

Demand Proven Performance:

RKB Splice Detectors are patented and innovative technologies designed for reliable, stable and consistent operation 24/7 in real world conditions common to web based material manufacturing and converting processes. Designed to operate off of 120/220/240 VAC, 50/60Hz, consumption is as low as 5 watts. Low speed to high speed coating, laminating, printing, packaging and specialized converting processes, RKB Splice Detectors are proven time and time again to be the leader in performance, reliability and price. RKB has over 5000 installations in over 130 Countries worldwide, join with leading manufacturers who demand proven performance for their quality control initiatives.
